Transportation Sales and Marketing

We are rapidly growing and need to add to our transportation sales team. This position is responsible for soliciting prospective clients, negotiating rates with underwriting companies, and selling new business to prospective clients. This is a salary base plus commission position.

Essential Functions
Develops and increases sales revenue within the Transportation Department to meet assigned targets.
Daily outbound calling to new prospects as well as existing clients.
Obtain referrals and continue to prospect new sales opportunities.
Processes and manages accounts in accordance with agency standards and workflows.
Negotiates coverage and pricing within markets.
Maintains client files on agency management system and performs customer transactions.
Maintains and build relationships with clients and underwriters.
Processes new business/renewal quotes, endorsements, certificates, cancellations, and audits.
Must follow all company guidelines and underwriting process.
Maintain good rapport with underwriters.
Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

At least three years of sales or service experience is preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
P&C License or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment required.

Advanced training in recent sales techniques.
