Our agency is seeking a service associate to join our transportation team. Employee will work with transportation customer service department servicing client needs, including communicating with the clients and underwriters, processing policy changes, answering phone calls, making payment etc.

Work Experience Requirements

-          Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients

General Description

Summary/Objective 
This position is responsible for handling all day-to-dayservicing/operations of general commercial lines accounts.  Position will also predominately handle renewalaccounts.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Answering and screening incoming telephone calls.
  2. Run agency reports as directed.
  3. Assist with marketing new and renewal business; utilize in house rating where applicable.
  4. Prepare request for renewal information.
  5. Record all client service activities.
  6. Input new, renewal and updated policy information into management system database. Follow up on missing items. Ensure that these items are delivered and/or mailed to client or entered into database.
  7. Receive and respond to calls and requests from clients and companies as back up to other associates as needed.
  8. As directed, prepare summaries for customers; including all required documents.
  9. Maintain electronic and/or paper files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  10. Prepare ID cards, evidence of property, certificates, account summaries and binders.
  11. Assist associates in cross selling and account rounding.
  12. Assist in the development of strategies to accomplish and support business plan objectives.
  13. Prepare and process all forms and records for client coverage documentation in connection with transactions, cancellations, bindings, endorsements and billing.
  14. Invoice all premium-bearing transactions.
  15. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and service by improving ongoing service delivery methods.
  16. Assist associates with preparation for client meetings.
  17. Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through circulars, bulletins, trade publications, carrier information and agency automation systems.
  18. Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development as part of continuing education requirements.
  19. Perform full cycle client service for small – medium size accounts as may be assigned.
  20. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  21. Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

    Travel

    This position requires rare travel within the local sales market area.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. At least five years of commercial lines customer service experience.
    2. Must hold a currently Property and Casualty License or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
    3. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of agency service operations. 


    Preferred Education andExperience

    1. Computer experience with Eclipse system.



    Education Requirements
    Graduation from High School or GED; two or four-year college degree desirable.
